If YES to both, you may be able to protect your benefit for up

Employment on Trial
Giving you confidence to start a new job - even if you are not
sure it will work out.
Are you:
- Out
of work and looking for a job?
- Prepared to try out a new job but are concerned about how it
will work out?
You must not have done any paid
work in the 13 weeks before starting your new job. You must
not have been a full-time student or in
full-time education in the 13 weeks before starting your new job.
Employment on Trial only applies if you are in work for more than
4 weeks, but not more than 12 weeks. If you give up your job during
this period, your JSA will not be reduced because you left your
job voluntarily. You will still have to claim JSA again when you
finish your job. If you are in work, do not leave your job until
you have asked the Jobcentre how this may affect your JSA.
